He is a third of the size of an average guinea pig, and weighs in at just a few ounces - but this tiny puppy could be a big deal when it comes to world records.
The miniscule chihuahua-Jack Russell cross - appropriately named Tom Thumb by its owners - is a serious contender for the title of being the smallest dog on the planet.
Little Tom was born just three weeks ago as part of a surprise litter to mum Spice, a chihuahua.

A BABY has survived a car bombing cradled in his mother’s lap as she was burned alive.
The baby boy’s father was also seriously wounded in the attack, which killed eight people.
The baby, aged about six months, and his parents were in a car stuck in traffic when the bomb went off in Baghdad.
Rescuer Sadiq al-Maliki, 36, said: ”We managed to take him out of the car, he had bruises and was covered with his mother’s blood.”
“We also put out the fire burning his father’s clothes and he was taken to the hospital.”
The mother was already dead. Police said the father had suffered serious burns and was in critical condition.
It doesnt get bigger or better than this.Last evening, when Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan walked in at the head of, what was finally, a unique gathering of the best creative talent the Indian film industry
has today, media persons which covered the gamut of options available (radio, print, electronic, web), newbies and hardened professionals, collectively held their breath and gazed.
It has been many many moons since two of our most charismatic and successful actors have been seen on the same platform. In fact, one almost cant remember when was the last time.
Suddenly nothing mattered. Not the gross collections of their last films, not any power list, not the number game. If the occasion were not so serious and dignified one would be tempted to stand up and cheer. But since they were here representing the directors and producers collective forum, The United Producers and Distributors Association forum, to explain their stand in the face-off with multiplex owners, it seemed wiser to just listen as each presented a keynote address. Yash Chopra, Sandeep Bhargava of TV 18, Ronnie Screwvala of UTV, Mukesh Bhatt, distributor Ramesh Sippy and Jyoti Deshpande of Eros, shared the stage along with the two Khans.

Wisden, the highly respected cricket publication, today named Virender Sehwag as the Leading Cricketer in the World for 2008 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni captain of its first ever Dream Test XI which has five Indians in the ranks.
India’s rich vein of form found ample reflection in Wisden’s first ever Dream XI which include Sehwag, Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan.
India has the largest representation in the Test squad, followed by Australia (Ricky Ponting and Mitchell Johnson) and South Africa (Graeme Smith and Dale Steyn) who have two each.
Flamboyant batsman Kevin Pietersen is the lone English player in the XI, while the West Indies is represented by run-machine Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Smith is Dhoni’s deputy in the side.
The three selectors who picked the squad were former India captain Ravi Shastri, retired West Indian pacer Ian Bishop and former New Zealand stumper Ian Smith.
